Dark Navy Ventile Cotton Mac, Regular Fit

A mac that keeps rain out without feeling like plastic is a rarer thing than it should be.

This one is cut to a regular fit from Ventile cotton, a densely woven 100% cotton fabric developed in the 1940s for military use. It is naturally water resistant: the long staple fibres swell when wet, which closes the weave and protects against rain without a synthetic coating. The detailing is deliberate throughout, with a wide placket, hidden horn buttons, front welt pockets, sleeve tabs, a storm vent, a back vent and two internal buttoned pockets.

That makes it a practical coat for commuting, travel and everyday wear rather than something kept back for bad forecasts. Dark navy is the version that works over tailoring as easily as over a jumper. Wear it open on a grey morning and closed when the weather decides otherwise.
